WHO CAN BENEFIT?
To be eligible for the Adult Non-Credit Language Training program, a learner must be an immigrant who is a resident of Ontario, is of legal school leaving age;Â andÌý¾±²õ:
- a naturalized Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a Convention refugee or a refugee claimant; or
- approved as a permanent resident, or their dependent, but who has not yet been processed to receive permanent resident status (e.g., individuals approved under the Ontario Immigrant Provincial Nominee program or the Canadian Experience Class); or
- admitted under a federal caregiver program with a pathway to permanent residency.
Adult students may register, for in-person or virtual classes, and begin at various times within a school year (September - June). The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of each student whether at the beginning, intermediate or advanced level. The personal approach to education, combined with a balance between academics, social skills, Canadian culture, and Canadian language development will prepare the learner for future academic studies, employment, and living in Canada. This program is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD).
